I did work out last week, but my book and my gloves have disappeared. Like completely. Into thin air. Poof! Gone! I got a new book and have to hunt down gloves that I like. The ones that I had were just starting to get broken in.. Ah well.

For cardio this morning, I walked the track. 2.25 miles in 40 minutes. Next time, I will try to increase my distance in the same time frame.

Going bowling today!!

I'll update later with my training session.

...It's later! I did a few of my sets at home because I figured it would be crazy at the gym by the time I went- so that means a few of my sets were lighter than usual.

Ever have those times you just want to go back to bed and start the day over? Today is one of those days, training wise. My legs are still killing me... Bad! Normally, like yesterday and every other time, I fight through it. Today, it nearly brought me to tears while at the gym. I don't think it was the pain doing it, but just the mental part of it. I was so pissed that I was struggling as bad as I was. I also weighed myself in, which didn't help the situation.

Low Carb Day

Cardio- 40 minutes average heart rate 130

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Ok, bear with me for a moment... I need to switch hats and turn into grumpy, grouchy old lady Jess for a moment. Here we go. The gym. Cool, lots of people want to improve themselves. All the more power to you- but I ask this: Why must you and 90 of your friends stand in a 2 foot radius of the one working out? No one really cares to hear about how hard you worked out last week. Woohoo. One 4 hour work out, one day last week. Gold medal for you. The whole entire gym does not need to know. And believe me, being cramped in that little weight lifting area just seems to help these young men (I use the word men loosely) boost their ego even more. I know I am coming off pretty mean, but when you are working with a limited amount of equipment, please do not sit on the benches and brag about your awesome work out- just do what you need to and get up... Oh, and wipe the sweat off the bench. Thanks. End of rant!

First day of summer break! Woohoo! Stayed at Jac's last night and headed straight to the gym for my new routine.

Cardio- 40 mins heart rate between 126 and 145. I left my chest strap at home, so I didn't know my rate for sure.. Stupid machines can't register my pulse.. Should I be concerned?

Tonight I go back to train with Sean.

I don't think I am going to mind this new routine. I get up, go straight to the gym to cardio it and then come home to eat and start my day. It's kinda nice because by the end of the day, I forget that I even went to the gym!

Low Carb Day
Relaxation Day!
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Ok, so I totally skipped the gym today and spent it at the Mohegan Sun spa with Jenn. It would have been great if I could have relaxed. After about 5 minutes of relaxing, I was itching to go do something. Maybe I should learn how to relax this summer. Jac has been working on getting me to relax for years now. I can do it with him, but I need to figure out how to do it alone!

So I messed up- today should have been a low carb day, but I forgot and made it a medium carb day. Ah well, I think it will be ok!

Cardio today- Interval elliptical- 45 (!!!!) minutes. Busted my bum and kept my heart rate higher than usual.

The past 2 days of cardio have been really good. Normally, with the last 5-10 minutes, I start to really struggle and it becomes an effort. Like I said, the past 2 days, I have not been struggling! Woohoo!

2 more wake ups, then no more school.. Man, I need it.

Today was a pretty good workout. I had this horrible nagging extreme pain in my side during cardio. At times, it threw me off balance, but I stuck with it and eventually, with 5 minutes left, it went away. Dunno what that was all about! I haven't had that happen since my heavier days!

Started a new meal routine. Seems to be going ok- certainly makes preparation easier!

Medium Carb Day
Back Day

Trained with Sean and did pretty well.

Only 4 days (well, 3 depending on your counting method) left of school. Once school is out and all is settled, I am going to be changing up my work out routine a little bit. I am looking forward to pushing myself this summer. I've been really pushing myself harder and harder lately, and hope to push even more this summer!

Saturday, June 13, 2009

Worked out on Thursday, will post it when I can see the keyboard!

I successfully walked 9 straight hours, NO breaks. My leg muscles are so tight that my leg (my left moreso than the right) is stuck at a near 90 degree angle. I cannot extend it to be straight. So not cool. Blisters too-awesome. Ah well, it's nothing compared to having cancer.

I'll back-date Thursday's workout later on.

40 mins on elliptical imitation machine. Level 7- Interval. Heart rate zoomed up to 157 and never dropped below 147. Pushed through hardcore today- being pissed does wonders for a workout. I don't like being pissed whatsoever, but hey.. It worked today!

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

Trained with Sean again today.

Also became proficient at gliding ala Miss Congeniality. Mastered the C3PO walk. AWESOME.

We did Chest today, and I don't know half of the machines names, so we'll just agree that I worked out hard today :)

At Panera's right now.. Working on end of year reflections.. TOTALLY spying cookies and cakes from here. Not cool!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Trained with Sean today.

Walking lunges: Too many.

Knees up Mother Brown (Don't know what they're actually called, but that's what we call the motion at school): 3x10. May have been more or less, but I was a little spacey by that time!

Romanian Deadlifts: Repeating sets from 10 lbs to 45 lbs.

Body weight squats: 3x15

I asked got my pinchy test done, and it's a dual edged sword.. I am gaining muscle and my numbers are going down, but my scale numbers are not going down... Which is just odd. As I told Sean, I made it out of the 3oo's, and out of the 2oo's, and now I have to get out of the current weight level. We're playing around with some ideas for the time being.
